Dalia Zizumbo is a second year student studying data science and behavioral neuroscience at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Her interests include how the brain functions related to mental health, disorders, and diseases. Related to her interests she has previously researched the characterization of extracellular vesicles from brain metastatic breast cancer cells, where she analyzed breast cancer cells and found that brain metastatic breast cancer cells secrete at a higher number and bigger diameter leading to metastasization to the brain. Additionally, she is passionate about advocating for social determinants impacting underserved communities and access to healthcare. One way Dalia has demonstrated her passion is by being a team leader for Think Neuro’s Spanish content team, where their goal is to make medical terminology easier to understand between medical professionals and low English proficiency populations.
