
Dr. Vila-Castelar is an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Queens College, The Graduate Center (City University of New York), followed by internship and postdoctoral fellowship training in multicultural neuropsychology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Prior to her appointment at Wash U, she served as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and a clinical neuropsychologist at the Multicultural Assessment & Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research examines risk and resilience factors for Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline, with particular emphasis on sex/gender, race/ethnicity, and cultural factors.
