
Nikole A. Bonillas Félix is a clinical research coordinator at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases Laredo campus. Prior to working at UTHSCSA, Nikole was a clinical research coordinator with the Multicultural Alzheimer’s Prevention Program (MAPP) at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School under the direction of Dr. Yakeel T. Quiroz. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Latin American and Latinx Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022, where she previously worked as a research assistant in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and as an emergency medical technician with the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). Nikole is interested in understanding health disparities in multicultural and immigrant communities, especially risk factors that contribute to the development of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias and increasing access to healthcare for these communities in hopes of joining the 2.4% of Latina physicians in the US. In her free time, Nikole enjoys playing and writing music, curating Spotify playlists, reading, cooking, and dabbling in various arts and crafts!
